Second Grade Team

In Second Grade, we strive to provide a positive learning environment that is full of project-based learning opportunities rich with technology integration. We will incorporate iPads for research, multimedia production, and reading. We also use the Promethean Board and ActivExpressions often!

In English Language Arts, students will develop a love for reading and writing. They will build fluency and speed in their reading and will finally begin to read chapter books.

Hello and welcome to my website for the 2019-2020 school year! I call my students 'my kids' because in our year together, they will become a part of my heart and that is where they will stay. Missed a day of distance learning? Please be sure to verify your child's absence with our office by calling (559) 665-8080. If your child is absent from distance learning due to a doctor's appointment, you can email a picture of the doctor's note to camposy@chowkids.com.

In math, students will learn many challenging things including solving double digit addition and subtraction problems with regrouping. This year, we will be participating in a fun research project with Abilene Christian University that focuses on developing problem solving skills.

In Science and Social Studies, students will have a blast studying the world around them and their community. We have an exciting trip to the Planetarium planned and fun incentive trips for each semester. We can't wait for this year!
